VR - 12h of Aston

After the team was not starting at the endurance race of VR last year, Thomas Nolden decided to started a one-man-show at the 12h of Aston. The 12h were no easygoing, but due to the slow and good-natured race cars, Thomas survived the race in a humanoid condition.

In the qualification Thomas set the #42 LFS XFR into the midfield and has some fights just in the beginning of the race with some drivers of the lower LFR class. Thomas was keeping a cool head and continued the race constantly, without mistakes and also fast.

But there comes another problem: The pit stops were extremly short, so there were no time for a much needed bio-break. We don´t know how Thomas managed that, but he continued the race and finished on a very good 17th place of 41 starters.  Read more »

Klaus was racing the first stint and had some action with some drivers. In one lap it was a bit to much, Klaus spins and lost his rear spoiler. After the pit stop he was on 16th position and was due to several accidents in front of him back at position 13, just 26 seconds behind Hubert Ebner and Wolfgang Kronthaler (Flying Tires). SSCA - 12h of Watkins Glen

The race debut for the GNC Race Team was the SSCA 12 h of Watkins Glen, driving the GTP Mod for NR2003. After some tests Sven Colin Preukschat, Jan Oeser, Marius Lederer and Thomas Nolden decided to drive the #42 Sauber Mercedes C9. Although the team got several problems during the long race, the drivers could stay the car always in the top20.

After numerous crashes and some driver swapping mistakes, the team could finish in 11th position from 37 startes. The GNC Race Team was very happy to see the finish line at such a good position, but also many failures from other teams helped them to climb higher and higher.

Curious: After Jan finished the race, he drove backwards back to the finishline and get blackflagged. Luckily the penalty did not dropped him down in a position.
